Line Boring, Bore Welding, and Bore Repair
Through bore welding, we restore material in worn-down areas prior to machining to precise dimensions and tolerances.

Pin bores wear oval. Once they do, a new pin does not fix it — the slop is in the hole, and a fresh pin in an oval bore wears out fast and takes the boss with it.
Bore welding restores the material that is missing, and line boring machines it back to a round hole at the right dimension. Done properly the joint goes back to spec rather than back to working-with-a-shim.

Common questions
- Can line boring be done without dismantling the machine?
- Often, yes — that is much of the point of it. The equipment sets up on the machine, which avoids a full teardown. Access decides it, so it is worth a look before assuming either way.
- How do I know if a bore needs boring or just a new pin?
- Measure it. If the bore itself has gone oval, a new pin restores the fit only briefly before it wears again. If the bore is still round and the pin is worn, the pin alone may do.
- Is hard facing part of this?
- It is a separate process, but the two often come up together on the same machine — bore repair restores a joint, hard facing protects a wear surface. Either can be quoted on its own.
