A machine that is slow, weak, or drifting is a hydraulic problem, but that describes a dozen different faults with very different costs. A tired pump and a failed relief valve look identical from the seat.
Pressure and flow testing tells you which one it actually is before parts get bought. On a hydraulic system, replacing components in order of likelihood is an expensive way to diagnose.

Common questions
- The machine is slow — is that the pump?
- It might be, and it might be a relief valve, a worn cylinder, a restriction or the oil itself. Those cost very different amounts. Flow testing distinguishes them, which is why it comes before a quote.
- Can a cylinder be rebuilt or does it need replacing?
- Most can be rebuilt if the rod and bore are serviceable. If the rod is scored or the tube is damaged, rebuilding it just delays the same conversation — you will be told which case you are in.
- Why does my machine leak again after a seal change?
- Usually because the seal was a symptom. A scored rod, a bent gland or contaminated oil destroys new seals quickly. Finding the cause is the difference between a repair and a recurring bill.
